Analog to Digital Transfers

API'S Analog to HD3 Pro Tools Session or File Digital Transfers - When it's gone it's gone!

It's not a matter of if you transfer-it's a matter of when you transfer. If you don't want to lose your creative work forever, sooner or later you'll have to take those old dusty analog masters off the shelf and have them transferred to a stable digital format.

Audio Productions has assembled all available analog formats from wire and micro cassette to 48 track, added a variety of state of the art digital formats and put them together with over 35 years of audio experience to create the nations finest  transfer facility.

Why?  First, the machines on which the audio was recorded typically become either obsolete, or, at best, difficult to locate.  Second, the medium itself deteriorates.

Magnetic tape, especially some brands manufactured in the period from the mid seventies to the mid eighties, had inherent problems with the substrate and binder, which can lead to numerous difficulties. These include, but are not limited to, clogging the head of the playback machine and/or damaging the tape when played if proper precautions are not taken.  This tape problem is often referred to as "Sticky-Shed".

At Audio Productions, our staff has extensive experience in dealing with magnetic tape.  In addition to intimate familiarity with virtually all brands of tape, we have been factory trained in machine maintenance by Ampex, Studer, Otari, Scully and MCI.  This is important because we own various machines from each of these manufacturers and have the equipment, expertise, and supplies to maintain them in-house; in fact, we even maintain machines for other facilities.

Don't wait until time causes your valuable recordings to deteriorate further. Let us transfer them to a more reliable format.  Digital formats are recommended because the materials will more than likely need transferring to a more advanced format in the future, and digital transfers stand a better chance of surviving these additional manipulations intact.

When you choose Audio Productions, you can be confident that we have the equipment and expertise to transfer your precious recordings safely and transparently.
